“This album is the distillation of everything we have been exploring in our music up until now”, says the band. “It points forward into a (brave) new world of sonic development for us – in the songwriting and scope of what we are trying to achieve. We are very proud to announce our new album, ‘Apricity,’ into the world today. It seems like only a few weeks back we set off to Los Angeles to record with Jason Falkner at our friend Jonathan Wilson’s amazing studio in Echo Park. Recording to 2-inch analogue tape we set about recording the album in this most creative Californian space before returning to the UK for final mixing at our humble studio in Canterbury.”

Syd Arthur are brothers Liam Magill, Joel Magill (bass, vocals), and Josh Magill (drums) and Raven Bush (violin, keyboards, mandolin). Formed in Canterbury, England, in 2003, the band has explored the myriad possibilities of improvisation, taking an exceptional approach born of prodigious musicianship, elemental songcraft, and an unabashed spirit of adventure. They have released three albums, including 2014’s Sound Mirror, and earned recognition as a thrilling live act. Syd Arthur has played myriad UK headline shows and support slots alongside such artists as The Strokes, White Denim, Jonathan Wilson, The Pixies, Sean Lennon’s The Ghost Of A Sabertooth Tiger, and Paul Weller.

Syd Arthur will tour with Jake Bugg in the US in September 7th. Prior to that, they will perform at Bushstock and Glastonbury Festivals, as well as playing a headline show at London’s Electrowerkz on 13th July.
