The trials of life have not held back the strong-minded singer-songwriter, Adam Lanceley, whose tragic car crash at the age of ten left him fighting for his life.

After his parents were told his chances of survival were slim and that he certainly would not walk again, Adam was determined to prove them wrong, having to re-learn many skills in the process, even how to talk.

Whilst struggling with depression in his adolescent years, Adam found that the best emotional outlet for his troubles was to write music.

He had tried his hand at acting, landing himself a place at the prestigious East 15 Acting School, but Adam realised that pretending to be someone else was not an effective medium to express his feelings. The side effects of Adam’s head injuries from the car crash had a detrimental impact on his mental health and music proved to be the only release.

Adam’s calling as a musician and his inspirational story has led to the creation of his fifth album, Postcards from Then…, from which the single ‘Those Rose Tinted Days’ is taken.

Although Adam’s musical style is difficult to pin down due to his use of unconventional instrumentation and old-skool recording methods, he takes inspiration from an eclectic range of artists including The Beach Boys, REM, Roy Orbison and even the Rolling Stones.

‘Those Rose Tinted Days’ is a powerful, reminiscent anthem driven by sun-drenched guitar riffs and backed up with Adam’s punchy vocal stylings that reflect his honest and considered song writing process. When it comes to lyrical inspiration, Adam’s mantra ‘as long as it means something to you’ makes itself evident through contemplative topics and cryptic poetics.

The album, Postcards from Then…, was recorded in Surbiton with two separate sound engineers, one of whom had provided the sound engineering for The Eagles during their last concert at the Royal Albert Hall.

Adam also raises money for his chosen charity, the Brain and Spine Foundation through running, his second passion. He has competed in a number of 10K runs and has even completed the London marathon, despite being told to stop because of the pain in his feet.

James Sayer – Sweet Baby Jane

James Sayer is a singer-songwriter, known throughout London for his session work & shows at the capital’s swankiest piano bars.

Hailing from Birmingham, James’ fascination and love of music began at a very young age when he learnt all things Rock n Roll through artists such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Elton John and Billy Joel. Jamesmoved to London in 2012 where he became a gigging musician, performing almost every night in piano bars, clubs and pubs. Eventually James met American producer, Alan Glass (Mis-Teeq, Kenny G), and they began working on James’ debut material. By early 2015, James had recorded an album’s worth of demo recordings, and they were passed on to five time Grammy winner and former member of The Doobie Brothers, Michael McDonald.

Blown away by his music, Michael then contacted James with the opportunity for a U.S. tour with BBC Radio 1 breakthrough act Ruen Brothers. During which time they supported George Ezra, played Coachella, and even snagged a live recording session with legendary producer Rick Rubin.

Later that year, James finished his first piece of solo work – ‘Taking Back My Love’. A pure representation of what James’ sound embodies – musicianship, passion & a bit of danceability! After uploading the track to BBC Introducing, The track was immediately picked up and made ‘Track of the Week’ by BBC 3 Counties. Mark Forrest also showed some love on his national BBC Introducing show, all of which contributed to two sold-out London launch shows.

The Follow-Up Sweet Baby Jane, see’s James at his vintage best. Influences range from the big band sound, to jazz & all out feel-good pop. The stand-out feature is James’ musical flair & love of songwriting. It’s a track that will leave the listener with a smile, as well as appealing to an audience of elitist music fans.

Charing Cross Theatre, Players Bar – 3rd, 10th, 17th Decenber

It is only recently however that her career has begun to take flight after being spotted by top producer David Ezra, who has worked with X Factor finalists ‘Reggie and Bollie’ who have had over 4 million hits on YouTube, David says “when I came across Chey’s demo I loved her voice and just had to invite her to my studio in London, I brought in Shakil Hussain, a songwriter also from London to join us and within one day we had written and recorded Dirty Love.”

Dirty Love takes a unique view upon a love affair where the woman is in total control of what happens next. Speaking on the track Chey says “I wanted this song to emphasise the power of a woman, and how she uses her sexuality to get what she wants.” Having had previous support from Chris Needs MBE (BBC Wales), Chey hopes her new single will captivate audiences.

Kolumbus Releases ‘I Hope You’ll Find Happiness’ Single and Picturesque Video

Irish singer-songwriter Kolumbus has announced a new single ‘I Hope You Find Happiness’ from his forthcoming debut EP ‘Give Them Life’ on the back of an enthusiastic reception for the first single Leave The Light On’.  Kolumbus is a musical project representing the solo journey of Irish songwriter Mark ‘Cappy’ Caplice. Correspondingly, the new video for this single features his own experiences around Ireland, with imagery so beautiful it could swoon romantic travelers and adventurers to visit the Emerald Isle.

“Optimistic and hopeful lyrics and music against the background of a tragic situation. This formula is one that is inspiring”Overblown Magazine

‘I Hope You Find Happiness’ was written as a lament regarding the droves of Irish people that left the country to find better lives, while looking forward to happier times. “They had to leave family, friends loved ones behind to fly half way across the world. So many of my own friends and close family were among them and I saw first hand how difficult it is, both for those who leave and those who stay,” explains Kolumbus. “I would never hold it against anyone for leaving. Life is too short to dwell on anything.”

Earlier, Kolumbus’ Christmas single ‘You Know It’s Christmas’ hit the No.1 spot on the Google Play Music Charts and Top 20 on iTunes, ahead of heavy hitters Adele and Justin Bieber, with all proceeds goint to Inner City Helping Homeless and Baltinglass Lions Christmas appeal. That song also features the West Wicklow Voices and Chorus Kids Choir.

Born in Kilkenny, Ireland, at a young age Mark Caplice moved to Wicklow, where he still resides. His performance name Kolumbus derives from the fact that he has always had a passion for travel and exploration, even from a young age. The 26-year-old believes life is too short to dwell, so his philosophy is to lead an active life.
Kolumbus was also influenced by artists such as Ben Howard, Elbow and Fleetwood Mac. His output exhibits clever craftsmanship both lyrically and melodically, blending several different styles to create his own unique brand of energetic captivating music.

Of course it helps that this track was produced by Gavin Glass, the music director for John Carney’s new film “Sing Street”, and engineered by Scott Halliday, previously a guitar tech with Prince and James Vincent Mcmorrow. Several other notable musicians make contributions here: drummer Graham Hopkins, who plays with Irish folk legend Glen Hansard, and organist Conor O’Reilly, who has recorded with U2 and has had his music performed in Carnegie Hall.

2016 is proving to be a very busy year for Kolumbus, having already toured through Germany and Austria, traveling over 4000 km on 2 planes, 17 trains and 1 bicycle. This year, Ireland, England, Germany and the U.S.A are all set to figure on his tour schedule.
Kolumbus currently has several tracks on his website for free download. “At this point, I just want to get my music out there as much as possible. Ideas are thought’s with potential. I have hundreds of songs. Now it’s time to Give Them Life”.
“Full of hope and good-heartedness… Clever well-crafted lyrics and instrumentation and a feel-good element that lingers on well after the song ends”The Spill Magazine

Groovy indie outfit The Northcoast release dazzling single ‘With You’

“With You is the perfect musical mix of dance, synthpop and indie sheen. Its bubbly rhythm-driving guitar riff feels lifted from “Songs from the Big Chair” or “Purple Rain”, bouncing with the same excitement that Michael Jackson’s guitarists brought to their hits in the 1980s” – Mitch Mosk (CEO Atwood Magazine)

Hailing from different locations across the north coast of America, The Northcoast’s three members come from New York, New Jersey and Seattle. They are the perfect example of how distance is no barrier to making music and with the aid of technology they have been emailing projects to each other and making music for over 10 years.

“With You” is their latest sparkly single, produced by Tom Lord-Alge, and is the perfect accompaniment to a long road trip or lazing on the grass on a summer’s day.

Watch/Listen to “With You” here:

Each member of the group has played at least three instruments since childhood and this, combined with their multi-cultural backgrounds, has given the group a plethora of musical influences and experience. Combining the pumping beats of Michael Jackson and bass lines of Passion Pit and Chvrches, there really is something for everyone to enjoy.

The Northcoast have realised their childhood dream of both making and performing music. Having made an impact on the stages of Vans Warped Tour and played alongside big names such as Gia Farrell, their future is already looking bright!
